The Spirit of Play

A great villa isn’t measured only by how well it lets you rest. It’s measured by how loud it gets when everyone is having fun.

Villa Bellamore was built for exactly this. A full sports court, a thirteen-metre pool, a garden trampoline, and a recreation room stocked like a private arcade mean there is always something to do, someone to beat, and a reason to stay up for one more round. Whether you have come with children, with friends, or with the whole extended family, the villa turns easily into the finest kind of playground.

This guidebook runs in three movements, Outdoors, The Arcade, and Together, from the sunlit court to the after-dark karaoke mic. Follow the day around, or simply chase whatever sounds like the most fun.

Getting into the game

Everything here is ready to play right now: no booking, no waiting, no fuss.

Help yourself

Paddles, cues, bats, balls, shells, and boards are all set up in the recreation room and courtside. Ask the team where anything lives.

Made for every age

From the trampoline to the karaoke mic, there is a game for the youngest guest and the most competitive adult alike.

Keep it kind

Half the fun is the rivalry. The other half is making sure everyone, from the eight-year-old to the grandparents, gets pulled in.

Just ask

Want the court lined for a tournament, the karaoke fired up, or someone to teach you sungka? The villa team is always glad to help.

The first movement · Outdoors

Sun, Court & Water

Step outside. The court, the water, and the wide-open lawn are all in play.

  1. 01Pickleball
  2. 02Outdoor Badminton
  3. 03The Swimming Pool
  4. 04The Trampoline
01

Pickleball

The world’s fastest-growing game, and the villa’s favourite rivalry.

The sports court is set for pickleball, the addictive paddle sport you can learn in ten minutes and then cannot stop playing. Fast, social, and forgiving of every skill level: grandparents and grandkids trade shots on the same court. Paddles and balls wait courtside.

All ages, all abilities, endless rematches
02

Outdoor Badminton

A tropical evening, a shuttlecock, and no real need to keep score.

The same court converts to badminton, a breezier, gentler game best played as the day cools. Rackets and shuttles are on hand. Play a proper match or simply rally back and forth until the light goes; either way, it is the kind of easy fun that quietly fills an evening.

03

The Swimming Pool

Thirteen metres of pure play. Dive in.

By day the pool is the beating heart of the villa’s fun. Race a length, invent water games, run a floating tournament, or simply cannonball off the edge. With the sun deck alongside, it is as good for lounging between rounds as for the games themselves.

The Trampoline

Proof that the best toys never really grow old.

Tucked into the garden, the trampoline is an instant magnet: for the kids, obviously, but watch how fast the adults queue up too. Bounce off the day’s stiffness, hold a highest-air contest, or let the little ones burn energy while you watch from a lounger, cold drink in hand.

The second movement · Arcade

Cue, Clatter & Rivalry

Out of the heat, the recreation room becomes a private arcade of friendly competition.

  1. 05Pool Table
  2. 06Table Tennis
  3. 07Air Hockey
  4. 08Foosball
  5. 09Dart Board
  6. 10Beer Pong
05

Pool Table

Chalk the cue. Someone always fancies their chances.

The full-size pool table anchors the recreation room, the natural gathering point once dinner is done. Rack them up for eight-ball, play doubles, or run a slow, drink-in-hand frame while the karaoke warms up next door. Cues, chalk, and a full set of balls are ready.

06

Table Tennis

Small ball, big drama.

Nothing separates the casual from the committed like a ping-pong table: fast reflexes, longer rallies than you would expect, and rivalries that carry from one night into the next. Bats and balls are on hand. Best of five, and the winner stays on.

Winner-stays-on tournaments
07

Air Hockey

Ninety seconds of pure, frantic joy.

The air hockey table is all speed and no strategy, which is precisely why everyone loves it. Perfect for a quick blast between other games, and reliably the loudest table in the room. Great for the kids, greater still for competitive adults a drink or two in.

Great for
Quick games, big energy, all ages
08

Foosball

Two-on-two, and no truce.

Table football is the villa’s great equaliser: luck plays as large a role as skill, so anyone can beat anyone. Spin, shout, and slam it home. Best played as doubles with plenty of noise; the perfect between-drinks game.

09

Dart Board

Steady hand, steadier nerve.

A classic for good reason. The dart board rewards a calm arm and a little arithmetic: 501, around-the-clock, or cricket for the regulars. A great low-key game to keep running in the background while the rest of the room gets loud.

10

Beer Pong

The great social equaliser of any villa holiday.

Set up the cups, pick your teams, and let the bracket begin. Beer pong is pure, silly, group fun that turns an ordinary evening into an event. Play it fierce or gentle, and swap in water, juice, or soft drinks so everyone can join. Cups and balls are ready when you are.

The third movement · Together

Laughter After Dark

When the sun is down and the whole crew is in, these are the games that pull everyone close.

  1. 11Sungka
  2. 12Board Games
  3. 13PlayStation
  4. 14Karaoke
11

Sungka

The Philippines’ beloved game of shells and strategy.

Sungka is a traditional Filipino count-and-capture game, played on a beautiful carved wooden board with cowrie shells. Think mancala, with generations of Filipino childhood behind it. Quick to learn, quietly strategic, and a lovely, authentic way to slow an evening down.

12

Board Games

The oldest kind of togetherness there is.

A shelf of board games and cards is always within reach for the hours between activities: a rainy afternoon, a slow evening, the wind-down after dinner. From quick card games to long strategic epics, they are the reliable heart of a family holiday. Gather round; the evening takes care of itself.

13

PlayStation

For the friendly rivalries best settled on screen.

The PlayStation is here for the teenagers, the gamers, and the rainy-afternoon crowd: racing, sport, and party games that get the whole room shouting at the television. A brilliant way to keep younger guests happy, and a surprisingly good group activity once the multiplayer comes out.

14

Karaoke

No Filipino gathering is ever quite complete without it.

Karaoke is not merely an activity here. In the Philippines it is practically a love language. Queue up the classics, pass the mic, and let the good, the bad, and the gloriously off-key fill the villa. It is the surest way to turn a good night into one you will still be laughing about years from now.

A suggested rhythm

A Day of Play

One way to spend a day when the whole crew is in. Pace it however you like.

  1. Morning pickleball on the court, before the heat sets in
  2. Pool games and a cannonball contest
  3. The trampoline for the kids, loungers for everyone else
  4. Lunch, and a lazy frame of pool
  5. Air hockey and foosball tournaments, out of the sun
  6. Badminton as the day begins to cool
  7. Sundowners and a beer pong bracket
  8. Dinner, with darts and table tennis running alongside
  9. Karaoke: the main event
  10. Board games and one last frame for the night owls

There are no fixtures to keep here, only good weather, good company, and no shortage of ways to fill the day.

Retreat. Play. Love.

This is Play.

The best holidays aren’t remembered for the rest. They are remembered for the laughter. When the games finally wind down, Retreat is waiting to restore you, and Love is waiting to bring you close. But right now: rack them up, pass the mic, and let the villa fill with noise.
